Wound primary current transformers
Wound primary current transformers have their own primary winding with terminals: the current to be measured flows through the winding instead of through a window. This allows small primary currents from 1 A to 40 A to be measured accurately – as WALO for metering and as calibrated WALO-E for billing.
WALO or WALO-E?
Frequently asked questions
What is a wound primary current transformer?
A current transformer with its own primary winding and primary terminals. The measured current flows through this winding, so the transformer measures even small currents from 1 A accurately.
Is there a calibrated version?
Yes, the WALO-E is conformity-assessed (class 0.5, secondary 1 A or 5 A) and suitable for billing to third parties.
