Frequently asked questions
What does 5P10 mean?
Protection CTs transmit even high overcurrents faithfully so that protection relays trip reliably. In 5P10, "5P" means a composite error of at most 5 %, "10" is the accuracy limit factor: the limit holds up to 10 times the rated current. Available here for 4000/1 A: 5P5, 5P10, 10P5 and 10P10. What does 4000/1 A mean?
With 4000 A in the primary conductor, the transformer delivers 1 A to the meter or measuring device – a ratio of 4000:1. Meters and instruments are set to this CT ratio. The 1 A secondary keeps cable losses low on long measuring lines.
